Supporting Youth in Navigating Challenging States of Consciousness
Something is shifting for young people right now — and it doesn't always look like what we've been trained to see.
A teen experiments with psychedelics and feels different in ways they don't understand. A young adult has a terrifying near-death experience and can't find anyone who understands what happened to them after. Another feels drawn to meditation retreats more than to parties or professional internships.
Some call it anxiety, depression, needing a break, or being neurodivergent. Sometimes that's the right lens, and standard frameworks are enough. But sometimes they're not. Sometimes what's happening isn't chemical misfiring or brain wiring — it's expanding awareness, what's often called spiritual emergence or spiritual awakening. And when it is, conventional mental health approaches can help, but they're not enough on their own.
This live, 4-session course — co-taught with Dr. Emma Bragdon — is for anyone who wants better tools than "diagnose or dismiss." Parents. Therapists. Teachers. Anyone who loves a young person going through something they can't quite name.
We'll help you tell the difference between crisis and emergence, teach you how to respond without overreacting or underreacting, and hand you language that works whether you're in a clinic, a classroom, or a kitchen-table conversation at 11pm.
